Piggy in the Mirror (cure cover)

Piggy in the Mirror. Most folks know the Cure these days from their cute love songs and Robert Smith- the lead singer- decked out in red lipstick, spiked black hair, and a powdered face. One might ask, “How could this fellow be considered Goth?” Well I offer this song as an explanation. Written in 1984 on a head full of LSD, I derive the idea that Robert would have been a bored serial killer if he had not become a pop icon. []

Letter for Jack, Cash on Delivery (new original song)

Letter for Jack, Cash on Delivery. (lyrics) I understand you like the struggle I know you wanna  keep it fresh That you  dig the sounds dirty and I have no life. Am I cheating? Are we on a level playing field? Am I cheating? Are we on a level playing field? Fame is an Opiate. You’ll never be prepared. Are you, your image? Or is that your Real Self up there? Am I cheating? or are we on a level playing field? []

Hypocritical Kiss (cover)

Hypocritical Kiss. (lyrics) My temper got the best of me And when I said that I mean I know every single thing That I said was true And I know that you’re mad at me But if you’re thinking like that I think you’ll see that you’re Mad at you too And I know the feeling’s strong Strong enough to forget about All that I’ve been through And it sounds obscene but Loud words never bothered Me like they do to you []

So Far From Your Weapon (dead weather cover)

So Far From Your Weapon. Trying to redeem myself from the last tune. Tired now. I am just a bit off today. (lyrics) There’s a bullet in my pocket burning a hole You’re so far from your weapon And the place you were born There’s a bullet in my pocket burning a hole You’re so far from your weapon And you want to go home I try to give you whiskey But it never do work Suddenly, you’re beggin me To do []

Cat Claw (the kills cover) for Copper Cranes

Cat Claw. Alright so… Copper Cranes and I have similar tastes in music, being groups associated with Jack White. For awhile I had been searching for a song by a group called ‘the Kills’ who shares the same front-person as the group called the Dead Weather. The artist’s name is Alison Mosshart. I have felt for awhile the Jack brings out something edgy in her that I do not hear in “the Kills.” Copper Cranes suggested to listen to the early releases. []

I Mean to Thank You! (new original song for my roadie)

I Mean to Thank You! Dedicated and Written for my Roadie for the B-Day!!! Luv Ya Dude!! (lyrics) It Brings Me to Tears Thinking of You Watching Me Kill Myself Slowly Kill Myself Slowly You’re so Patient You’re very Gracious I feel like a New-Born Don’t Know How to Act Right Don’t Play Well With Others Wonder if I Ever Will And You’re So Patient So Very Gracious I Mean to Thank You I Mean to Thank You I Mean To Thank []

You Don’t Understand Me (raconteurs cover)

You Don’t Understand Me. (I dunno..feeling insecure on the vocals on this one…) lyrics You don’t understand me But if the feeling was right You might comprehend me And why do you feel the need to tease me Why don’t you turn it around It might be easier to please me And there’s always another point of view A better way to do the things we do And how can you know me And I know you. If nothing is true Why []

the Weekenders (cover)

the Weekenders. Just for your information, this is a lot less edgy than what I have been posting lately. It is a charming acoustic pop song in the vain of NERD ROCK. I dig that the fellows who wrote this are middle aged as I am. (lyrics) There was that whole weird thing with the horses I think they know exactly what happened, I don’t think it needs any explaining I’m pretty sure I wasn’t your first choice I think I was []

Ask Her for Adderall (the hold steady cover)

Ask Her for Adderall! Adderall is a prescription drug that is used on children and adults who suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder. It seems to be a fun drug that parents use to dope up their kids. It is amphetamine and opium all wrapped up into a neat little pill. I suspect that parents get the script for the kids, and take it for themselves. So my cover here is at a tempo so fast, that it sounds like I am careening []

Old Enough (raconteurs cover)

Old Enough. lyrics You look pretty in your fancy dress But I detect unhappiness You never speak so I have to guess You’re not free. There, maybe when you’re old enough You’ll realize you’re not so tough And some days the seas get rough And you’ll see You’re too young to have it figured out You think you know what you’re talking about You think it will all work itself out But we’ll see When I was young I thought I knew []
