Sweetness Follows (live cover)

Sweetness Follows live. I did this quickie R.E.M song because I am working on a new original. My new song has everything but lyrics with a melody, and I don’t want to rush it, also my voice is not up to par right now. So until, then satiate yourself with this sad song. (lyrics) Readying to bury your father and your mother What did you think when you lost another? I used to wonder, why did you bother? Distanced from one, blind []

Good Falls to Corruption (original tune)

Good Falls to Corruption. (lyrics) They’re a 2-Headed Snake. Cut Off a Head, Grows Back. Told to Pick Your Poison. Taste’s Bitter Either Way. You’ve Got Great Intent. Fall to Corruption, Fall to Corruption. Getting a Good Plan to Fruition, Fall to Corruption. Boxer Fights His Way Out of the Hood. Singer Sings to Make a Better World. Take the Money on LOAN!!! Fall Prey to GET THE JOB DONE! You’ve Got Great Intent. Fall to Corruption, Fall to Corruption. Getting a []

Catch a Prayer (duran duran cover)

Catch a Prayer. Okay Back Story on this one. Last night, I had an epiphany. Music is prayer to me. Praying is the act of music. Though I do not so much believe in ownership of music, I believe that people at differing places can ‘tune in’ to music in the ether can get the exact same song. Folks who do not even know each other. So I more believe in people CATCHING MUSIC, CAPTURING MUSIC, and that it is PERFECTLY OKAY, []

Under My Thumb (acoustic punk rock cover)

Under My Thumb. Hey, this is a song by the Rolling Stones. It is most likely the most popular misogynistic tune ever in heavy rotation. What happened Mick? Did she beat the loving fuck out of you or somethin’??? SHEEZZZZ! So I have properly butchered yet another classic(?) song.

Personal Manager (blues cover)

Personal Manager. Here is the back story on why I choose the tune. I have a great friend who always talks of retaining Personal Assistants, Handlers, Tour Managers, and the like. And yeah, I “get it” that these folks are his hired guns. BUT, this song comes to my mind almost every time the topic is approached. And my take on the song, IS that the Personal Manager is a shady son of a bitch. Something screams out at me, “DON’T TRUST THIS DUDE []

Champagne and Reefer (blues cover)

Champagne and Reefer. Alright is another attempt, albeit not very thought out, to get the sound of those old blues dudes who allegedly made those contractual obligations with the dark side and got put out on old 78 records. Just an aside, I am still stone cold clean and sober, hope to carry that trend out for the rest of my daze.

Hang You from the Heavens (cover)

Just a note on why the recording sounds the way it does. I was trying to get a really scratchy old sound, like an old 78 record of a blues man on a Victrola player, some sort of Decca recording. I wanted the song to sound as if it came from hell, or a person who had been there and back again. That being said, this is not pretty. Hang You from the Heavens. (lyrics) I never know how to treat you []

Even the Losers (cover)

Even the Losers, live. (lyrics) Well, it was nearly all summer we sat on your roof Yeah, we smoked cigarettes and we stared at the moon And I’d show you stars you never could see Baby, it couldn’t have been that easy to forget about me Baby, time meant nothing, anything seemed real Yeah, you could kiss like fire and you made me feel Like every word you said was meant to be No, it couldn’t have been that easy to forget []

Not Good (live) original song

(lyrics) I sit and work all day. Sit and work, try to make it play. I’m not good, not good. I’m not good, not good NOW! Practice hard for 20 years. Practice hard, it’s hard on your ears. Cuz, I’m not good, not good. Not good, not good NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW! Maybe I should buy a book and sound like I should. Maybe get some cash and sound like  an ass. I’m not good, not good. Not good, not []

Boulevard of Broken Dreams (cover)

I was surfing the internet today checking out blog posts. I came across one that made me think of the Green Day Song called ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, in an entirely new light. The thought was that the lyrics were an accurate expression of the internal experiences of someone who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. I have had friends who struggle with the affliction. So I tried to sing the song from that vantage point. To see the post, that inspired my []

Physical (cover)

All right, Pop Trivia Fans! Today’s contest begs the question, “Who was the famous 1970’s Artist that originally hit pay-dirt with this tune?” Physical. (lyrics) I’m saying all the things that I know you’ll like Making good conversation I gotta handle you just right You know what I mean I took you to an intimate restaurant Then to a suggestive movie There’s nothing left to talk about Unless it’s horizontally Let’s get physical, physical I wanna get physical Let’s get into physical []
