(ah well), Put That in Your Heart
(lyrics)
Don’t Be Dumb, He said
You Can Fix Up Your Life.
For Goodness Sake Get Your Mind Right!
ah well, What the Hell?
He Felt that Buzz for 20 years!
Rubik Cube Brain Scrambled Up.
Put that in Your Heart and LOVE IT!
Don’t Be Dumb, He Said
You Can Fix Up Your Life.
For Goodness Sake Get Your Mind Right!
Kid of Privilege, Elitist Class
Took a Plunge and Lived in Trash.
Bottom Feeders,
Leeches Reading Newspapers,
I Love the Sound of My Own Voice!
Don’t Be Dumb, He Said,
You Can Fix Up Your Life.
For Goodness Sake Get Your Mind Right!
Who Needs Sleep When I’m the Police?
It was Almost Funny in Retrospect.
Shivering, Quaking, Risk-Taking,
I’ll Meet You Somewhere in the Middle Ground!
Don’t Be Dumb (Put that in Your Heart)
You Can Fix Up Your Life (Put that in Your Heart)
You Can Fix Up Your Life (Put that in Your Heart)
(ah well) What the Hell?
He Felt that Buzz for 20 Years!
(ah well) What the Hell?
He Felt that Buzz for 20 Years!
Put That In Your Heart!
Put That In Your Heart!
Put That in Your Heart!
(just penned this tonight, I think was a cohesive song from the start.
Feel Good about it, right now. Feel that it is solid.)

Punchy lyric, great choice of text; gets the point over yet stays a little surreal. Best of luck with this one, Ted – it’s looking good.

Thank for telling me how you hear the tune. I purposely kept it really simple. I wanted to use as few chords and possible. If it had come any other way, it would just been two or three. Limiting, seems to help the flow. As you know, I have been doing covers a whole bunch. I wanted to learn how to write by seeing how others do. And it seems, that I have gotten a wee bit of a clue now. 🙂

Back in uni I studied a whole host of artists and I came to conclude the way to write a new song is simply how you yourself want to write. They tried to sell me rules for writing, yet all that did was kill all creativity. It looks to me that – like your paintings – you’re doing it spot on the right way.
