Drunkalog from the Bad Old Daze

One night, way back in the late 1950’s,
I was getting drunk, hammered really, on Russian Vodka with Robert Oppenheimer.
Right before he passed out, He mumbled to me,
‘I don’t know if I should say
the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Ya see,
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
“Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds”
or just tell America
I said, “Man, you think too much.”
Then I put a pacifier in his mouth
and tucked him in bed.
