Thank you! I dropped by your site today and saw fabulous oil pastels!

Thanks so much Ted. I have really admired your portraits and figure paintings, I’ve not tried those subjects with oil pastels, perhaps one day – need a bit of “courage!”

Yeah, it will come when it does. For the longest time, I was thoroughly afraid to use color, I would just main line drawings that never filled all the space. People would say I love your colors , why don’t you use them? I guess I told them I was scared. Friends remind of that, from time to time.

Yup. When I was a kid, I had skin so white that it looked like porcelain. So, I was out playing tennis age may 10. It was about 100 degrees outside. Way over that on the tennis court. I had a heat stroke. Woke up three days later, My skin was literally a bunch of bubbles, welts, then they popped , peeled, and left me freckled to this very day. Yeah, so it reminds of that.

Were you hospitalised? I had a similar thing happen to me around the same age. I was so dehydrated that I needed IV fluids. Only in one night but the pain lasted a lot longer. Worst of it was I thought I was protected. I slathered on Factor 15 but it turned out to be after sun cream not anti-sun cream. 😥

I was not hospitalized, at least that I can remember. I might ask my Dad when I see him next month if I was, and just did not remember. I know I was not conscious for 3 days.
