thank you! One of my old painting professors told me, during an Easter Break, when I was painting feverishly on a picture that was literally the size of a door. Found him in the pub, dragged over to see it. He says,”uh..there is a huge whole in this image, you should paint really small, and when you have that figured out, less surface, easier to manage, images won’t shatter. Do it small, then work as huge as you like.” Therefore these sketches. Lighter on the mind too..Less area to mess with..Gonna do more.. Must sleep..I have done 5 images in the last 18 hours..Framed 1 , to mail to an old friend..You know I love your colors!
It’s great to see you clearly on a roll….and I agree with your painting professor re starting out on small surfaces….There’s so much energy in these new paintings….very exciting stuff….Janet:)
