Did you have any formal training in art?

Yes, I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Indiana University, 1993. My focuses were on Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, and Printmaking. I had a minor in Art History.

Funnily enough after months of looking at your work, I was going to ask the same question as Poet Rummager. (Great word rummager!) I also have a fine arts degree. I majored in ceramic sculpture and did minors in stained glass and drawing.

I wasn’t aware that you had that degree! Awesome. Even though I had over ten semesters in Ceramics, I was never very good at it. Folks did a buy a lot of though.

I always spent more money buy other people’s pots than I made selling my own. I went straight into working in art galleries and barely made anything after leaving Uni. That was why I went into making greeting cards as it was very portable. Can’t through a kiln into a backpack but paint and brushes? Of course! Financed some of my travels by selling cards to peeps along the way.
