Alright..I just listened to my music from June 20th 2015 to the present day, Dec 19th 2015.
In that time I did 146 cover songs, which were multi-track recordings. Also I wrote 53 original songs also multi-tracked.
The time it took to do that was back to back songs, probably over 12 hours of continuous music.
I critiqued my work. Writing down the song titles, giving them a star or happy face.
Sometimes beside the name of the piece I would write BOO or PEW! Sometimes I would draw
a face by the song that had no expression whatsoever, 8 pages of notes.
I am sitting here trying to make sense of it all. Thinking of, in the future being able
to make some playlists of the best of each genre, type of song, arrangement, so forth.
I would guess that about 88 percent of the time, the music was enjoyable sounding from
acceptable to good to ” I am happy with this”. The other 12 percent of the time it
was of the PEW that stinks variety.
Okay the critique,
There many recordings where the guitars were not in tune and/or the vocals were sharp
or flat. This kind of error makes me wanna smash my head thru plaster walls.
Another good thing to know, is the ACTUAL material. Ya know, like know the music!!
I give myself room for error considering the type of hardware, mikes , interfaces for the computer,
the learning curve with the editing software for recording. I am learning as I go, it does improve.
I have found that I want to limit my songs or covers to a maximum of 2 minutes and 30 seconds in length,
so If it sucks, I do not have to go thru with a long tired drawn out..well you get the picture.
Sometimes I overuse certain backing instruments and beats. Watch me eat my words.
Also when I sing, to really put my breath behind it. But this was kinda fun.
I want to branch out the internet presence so if anybody wants to download the songs for free
, they can. A lot of sites, get all crappy about copyright, so on the covers it could piss off
the powers that be, or the powers that were. Also some sites I have maxed out the upload space,
on free versions of certain platforms. Hey like I have said before, to get SUED BY A BIG NAME
MUSICIAN WOULD BE A FREAKIN’ GODSEND!!!! ‘beat up the crazy dude with a high speed internet connection
cuz he streamed 10 cents worth of ….blah blah’. I would love to be on some sort of weird CNN newscast.
I digress.
Also going through all the posts, I have noticed so many reoccurring visitors to the site who have
listened to the good bad and stinky songs..Also my friends in real life. And my old friends who
I still contact virtually. So here goes the shout outs!
