I might have to get to this tomorrow.
I have been working on this photography project
with a friend. I am close to finished with it.
Only have to run thru 20 or more images..
Looking forward to hearing it.
And seeing how I can manipulate it..
Hey, I loved what you did..It adds almost comedic relief
against my somber dirge version. Spins it. I am thinking perhaps
I can add a bass line, or simple rhythm with a tambourine and some sticks.
Any thoughts?
Yes, I like this…It seems to me that we should start it from ground up.
I dunno, my thoughts are if you could send the drum track, then I add,
the guitar and vocal, in sync. Send it back to you, lay out the piano…
Then figure in bass..I really like the timing of the drums in opposition
to the guitar..
I took a 4 bar extract from your voice/guitar audio. Next I got Tracktion to tell me the speed was 144.15. Then I chose a 4 bar drum loop, which was at 120. Naturally it would sound out of sync if both audio files were played together. Then I got Tracktion to time stretch the drum loop to fit your recording. Then I let her rip.
If your timing had gone off significantly, other adjustments would have been needed.
Did you use a metronome or some other device to keep you in time?
I am going to give this another listen.
Despite the good advice of a musician friend of mine in Los Angeles,
I do not use a metronome or click track when recording.
Also, I will check out Tracktion, what you have done with it is
of great interest to me..Sorry for the delay in this collaboration.
Tracktion 4 is free. That’s what I’m using since I’m so cheap. I got the vst instruments thing working now.
So I added bass, synth and a bit of guitar. I’m not editing of mixing anything. I’m getting the feel of this thing.
If you are not using a click track your timing is pretty good.
Are you recording your voice and guitar together? We need everything on separate tracks to do a mix.
Glad you are getting practice with the software.
Yeah, on this song I believe I used one track for both the guitar and vocal, simultaneously.
I just listened to the product. I like all of it, bass synth gtr drums…
I think the mix is fine, on guitar rig 4.mp3
I would like to put this on my blog..lemme know!!
Ted, you could always put it up saying it’s rough work and that you’ll put a new one up soon. That way people will be able to compare the two versions. Who knows–maybe the more polished version will be worse!
I’m on a “grown-up computer” and can hear your music at last! You are very talented. Enjoying listening to other recordings until I get booted out of the office!
Excellent, Ted. I’ll try to put some organ chords on this one–something to do while still deciding on a daw.

It sounded horrible with organ!
I think we need a glockenspiel (this is, as you will find out, my solution to everything, be it music related or not).
So I tried it with a pop synth sound (glockenspiel-like) and it was less horrible.
I’ll send you the link in a minute.

Okay, yeah, I am really not sure how I had the guitar tuned.
It could very well have been tuned down a whole step.
I see the link now..

The left channel was out on my headphones, but his morning, with different headphones, I could hear what I sent you!
Chirpy synths always make a great addition to depressing love songs, church sermons, and technical manuals on biological processes.
Yes, I think a bass line and some percussion would be nice.

I was able to put a drum beat to the song using Tracktion 4.

wOW!!! I think this one has been in oven long enough. It is done.
Shall I put it up on the site? Do I have your blessing?

Shoot–I can always disown it later.
Actually I do have one condition–that we later redo it from scratch. We need separate tracks for guitar and vocals.

OKay, I will wait. Have patience with me, until I deliver
the requested tracks…
