      • I did a version of Scarecrow. It is on this site somewhere.
When that song came out, I really felt the truth in it, and thought
the song was his best ever.
As far as Meg, I have a friend who saw them together over a year ago at Macy’s.
I guess John was getting some kind of gift for her. Since then, I have not heard
        anything about him.
As far as critique of him, I can say that he certainly capitalized on the whole regional bit.

      • Yes that song is just spot on and people who have lived in rural areas feel it. Yeah I guess it’s also true that we write what we know whether it’s stories or songs. I wish I lived in a town with a celebrity or one of my favorite musicians 🙂 I kinda do, Larry Mcmurtry lives in small town not far from me.

      • What I try to keep in mind about famous folks, is that they are regular humans
with the same woes and triumphs as any person. Saying to myself, that if one
of my childhood friends became a celebrity, would I treat them any different?
Probably not, they would still be the same human I have always known. I try to
keep it in focus like that. Not always successful, but I try.
