When I Come Around, audio
Somehow I am amused about the band Green Day. Coming from the Oakland punk scene and
being accused of selling out, now they have faded back into relative unpopularity.
I love four chord punk tunes because I can actually play them. It seems to me
that , as a friend said to me, “It’s all SHOWBIZ BABY!!”

Hooray for old school. I suppose I am a post punker from the mid-1980’s ,
of course, what the heck does that mean, being in the midwest?

If you love the music, it means everything š No poseurs in my book, good music belongs to everyone and thank you Mum and Dad for Queen, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, etc. š

I grew up listening to Green Day and the sheet music for ‘Dookie’ was among the first I ever bought. This is one of my most favourite tracks of theirs and one I can still relate to. I have left my teenage angst behind now but who doesn’t love thrashing about to Welcome To Paradise or American Idiot? Billie-Joe forever!

Cool!!! Green Day make it big, right after Cobain died. It was a strange time in Bloomington, Indiana. Major labels were signing up a lot of folks in town, the locals hoped it would be like Athens, GA or Seattle. So Green Day is thrashing about, while they put everybody here on the shelf or dropped them. Like indie kids were a health risk..Ahh the good/bad old daze :)!
