Hey Thank for dropping by and leaving a comment. I enjoy your poetry, that you read it aloud often. The subject matter to me is brave, courageous, sensitive, bold…Also I saw and heard a post, some odd instrument that you have, that has certain notes, that you can use as a drone sound, thought that was so cool!
Thanks, Ted. Kind of you. 🙂 Yes, that is my harmonium, an instrument used in Indian kirtan music, which I also play. It is very cool! Such a powerful sound, especially in person. And appreciate your feedback on my poetry! Flattered.
Neato! I have no knowledge about Kirtan music, or the instrument really. So, my question is if the music is based on a different tonal system, like a system of 12 tones? I should run a youtube search, and listen…
I’m still learning and teaching myself! 🙂 There are a whole new set of scales, and names for the notes. It’s been fun to challenge my brain, I’ve played piano for 30 years. This changes it up a bit!
I understand..I have trouble enough trying to memorize all the modes in Western Music. How it all tends to blend, where the same set of notes could have different names same thing, blends all gets fuzzy and messes with the mind.. I have a keyboard, but really do not know how to use it properly, haven’t spent the time.. Sure would love to do how to do boogie woogie type things, hand rolls, do Ragtime stuff…
I really love your art. 🙏🏼
