Catch a Prayer (duran duran cover)

Catch a Prayer. Okay Back Story on this one. Last night, I had an epiphany. Music is prayer to me. Praying is the act of music. Though I do not so much believe in ownership of music, I believe that people at differing places can ‘tune in’ to music in the ether can get the exact same song. Folks who do not even know each other. So I more believe in people CATCHING MUSIC, CAPTURING MUSIC, and that it is PERFECTLY OKAY, []

War Buddies.

Kindred spirit. I feel like he and I are working against the clock making up for lost time. 30 years later, nothing spoken prior. We talk: have more in common, shared experiences, came to the same conclusions, dark experiences laced with darker humor, shared ideas on what it is to be reality (?) understand that we are conduits, knowing sound frequencies are conjoined with life married to death and beyond. Said all this to her, She answered, “Is Time Ever Really Lost?” []

Under My Thumb (acoustic punk rock cover)

Under My Thumb. Hey, this is a song by the Rolling Stones. It is most likely the most popular misogynistic tune ever in heavy rotation. What happened Mick? Did she beat the loving fuck out of you or somethin’??? SHEEZZZZ! So I have properly butchered yet another classic(?) song.

Personal Manager (blues cover)

Personal Manager. Here is the back story on why I choose the tune. I have a great friend who always talks of retaining Personal Assistants, Handlers, Tour Managers, and the like. And yeah, I “get it” that these folks are his hired guns. BUT, this song comes to my mind almost every time the topic is approached. And my take on the song, IS that the Personal Manager is a shady son of a bitch. Something screams out at me, “DON’T TRUST THIS DUDE []

Champagne and Reefer (blues cover)

Champagne and Reefer. Alright is another attempt, albeit not very thought out, to get the sound of those old blues dudes who allegedly made those contractual obligations with the dark side and got put out on old 78 records. Just an aside, I am still stone cold clean and sober, hope to carry that trend out for the rest of my daze.

EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES.

Right now I am having some difficulties with getting my new video to play. It is making me want to pull what little hair I have left on my head COMPLETELY OUT! That would at least solve the bad hair days into years problem. Ah but I digressed. I have a really cool new video that I have worked all day on.. so a few of you might have noticed the problem. It could be that , some sort of power that []

Hang You from the Heavens (cover)

Just a note on why the recording sounds the way it does. I was trying to get a really scratchy old sound, like an old 78 record of a blues man on a Victrola player, some sort of Decca recording. I wanted the song to sound as if it came from hell, or a person who had been there and back again. That being said, this is not pretty. Hang You from the Heavens. (lyrics) I never know how to treat you []

Even the Losers (cover)

Even the Losers, live. (lyrics) Well, it was nearly all summer we sat on your roof Yeah, we smoked cigarettes and we stared at the moon And I’d show you stars you never could see Baby, it couldn’t have been that easy to forget about me Baby, time meant nothing, anything seemed real Yeah, you could kiss like fire and you made me feel Like every word you said was meant to be No, it couldn’t have been that easy to forget []
