Rape Me (nirvana cover)

Rape Me.

Upon reflection, I believe the song was written as a middle finger to the Rock Press,
and news organizations that feed off sensationalist stories. What used to be called,
yellow journalism. Of course with any work of modern Art, the audience is free
to interpret their own personal meaning in a piece.

Kurt Cobain
exact words
on the song were: It’s like she’s saying, ‘Rape me, go ahead, rape me, beat me. You’ll never kill me. I’ll survive this and I’m gonna fucking rape you one of these days and you won’t even know it.’ This quote was found in Spin Magazine. The song was intended to be an Anti-Rape and Anti-Revenge song.
