I asked several friends what the essence of Indiana would look like visually.
The best answer came from an absolute stranger. He said the railroad system. His life
experience differed from mine in that he came of age post World War 2. I saw the
remnants of a once vibrant industrial rail system. Most of the switchyards were torn
out years ago and the only remaining track in this city has been fenced off with
no trespassing signs posted. I ignored them and this is what I captured.

My father worked for the railroad (C&O and then all the conglomerates it merged into finally becoming CSX) and he said he always told young people joining the company that there was no future in railroads. He was right, but he should have been wrong…(K)

Wish he was wrong. Yeah CSX left this town awhile back.

Glad you ignored the signs, Ted. I love trains and travelling by train. It is criminal how many systems around the world have been left to rot!
